Do we need a music video?
Hello dear DarkbatsFantasy fans and music lovers!
I’m sure you all know and love my song “Hobbitleben”, which I released about a year ago. It has become a firm favourite for many of you and has received a lot of positive feedback. Now I’ve recently dedicated myself intensively to a new, yet familiar, favourite track that builds on it: Hobbit Life Musical!
Yes, you heard right – it’s the musical evolution and deepening of your favourite song. The special thing about it: it’s the same beloved lyrics as from the original song, but now completely staged and presented as a kind of musical! Imagine how the familiar lines unfold in a multi-layered musical narrative, based on the mood of the YouTube video “The Hobbit Life with the Moving Pictures”.
I composed and recorded this hobbit life musical with a great deal of passion and passion. The quality of the recording is great and I’m incredibly proud of the result. But now I’m faced with a big question that I need your valued opinion on:
Pure music track or with moving images? The dilemma!
I currently have a high-resolution audio recording, which is a complete experience in itself. But I’ve been wondering whether we should also bring this musical adventure to life visually.
On the one hand, it would be fantastic to reinforce the Shire and the stories of the hobbits with images. Visual elements can convey the emotions and narrative of the hobbit life musical even more intensely and immerse you even deeper into the cosy world. For you DarkbatsFantasy fans, this could be a whole new way to experience my creativity and the evolution of Hobbit Life – especially as you already know the text and can now discover the musical production to go with it. And the best thing is: You could be actively involved in the video creation again !
The big question for you: What do you think?
But hand on heart: does that really make sense? Or is it enough to release the Hobbit Life musical as a pure music track?
My thought is this: I would really like to produce a music video for this. However, I also have the thought floating around in my head that it could then quickly become visually “almost the same” as the existing YouTube moving images or even the visual impressions you already associate with the original “Hobbit Life” song. I want to create something unique that enriches your experience and puts the musical front and centre, not a mere repetition.
Your opinion is worth its weight in gold!
That’s why I’m asking you:
- Do you think a music video is ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY to fully enjoy the Hobbit Life musical?
- If so, which scenes from the extended Hobbit universe would you really like to see that fit in with the new musical direction?
- Do you have any ideas on how we could visualise the whole thing without repeating ourselves or leaning too much on the old images? Think of places, moods or special effects that suit the musical!
- Is the pure enjoyment of the musical as an audio track enough for you, as you already know the lyrics?
A little note about the previews
Currently there are still some copyright jingles from DarkbatsFantasy integrated in the preview of my musical. These are only for protection against unauthorised copying and publishing. Please remember: (It is a preview) In the finished song these jingles or errors are of course NOT present and you can enjoy the musical in full, undisturbed splendour!
