Patsy is back – in top form and full of chaos. In the third episode of the first season, you can expect a wild ride through daydreams, everyday disasters and a sporting career that probably works better in her imagination than in reality.
What begins harmlessly – with a heroine who reluctantly struggles out of bed and is forced to visit the doctor – quickly develops into a ludicrous mix of over-the-top self-dramatisation, philosophical leaps of thought and a touch of megalomania.
While those around her try to maintain order and normality, Patsy stumbles through situations with her usual full force, which no one can experience as dramatically or comically as she does.
With sharp humour, absurd dialogue and great attention to detail, this episode takes the piss out of everyday life – from the doctor’s surgery to the football pitch. And yes, there is also a very special training scene, including a commentator, exaggeration and the feeling that sporting history is being written here. Or at least television history.
